24x7 Customer Support for E-commerce

Project Overview

This AI chatbot startup for e-commerce aimed to provide an affordable and efficient alternative to traditional customer support. By offering 24x7 service, the chatbot is designed to handle queries, improve response times, and reduce operational costs for business owners.

My Role

As the UI/UX designer, I was responsible for designing the chatbot's user interface, the main website, and the business owner’s dashboard. My role involved user research, wireframing, prototyping, interaction design, and improvement of some previously designed screens to enhance usability and ensure design consistency across the platform. I collaborated closely with the founders and development team to ensure the product was intuitive and aligned with user needs.

Design Scope

The aim was to provide e-commerce business owners with a cost-effective, 24/7 solution for customer support. The product needed to be scalable, efficient, and easy for businesses to integrate into their websites. I worked on three major components:

  1. The AI Chatbot Interface – Ensuring smooth customer interaction with the bot.

  2. The Business Owner Dashboard – Allowing e-commerce businesses to manage, customize, and monitor the chatbot’s performance.

  3. The Website – Informing potential users about the product, its features, and benefits.

The goal was to build a user-centric system that is accessible to small and medium-size businesses while remaining powerful enough to handle complex customer interactions.

Design Process

Understanding the Vision:

  • Worked closely with the founding team to fully understand their vision for the chatbot and the core features required to meet the needs of e-commerce businesses. The design process was focused on translating these objectives into intuitive interfaces.

Wireframing & Prototyping:

  • Developed wireframes for the chatbot, website, and dashboard, ensuring that user journeys were streamlined and functional.

  • Created interactive prototypes to visualize the flow and functionality of the product, which guided the development process.

Iterative Design Refinement:

  • Collaborated with the founding team to review the designs and make improvements that aligned with their goals and feedback.

  • Improved previously designed screens to enhance consistency and user experience across the product suite.

Design Outcome

The chatbot interface offers e-commerce customers a seamless conversational experience, designed to handle a variety of customer support tasks with ease. The website effectively communicates the chatbot’s value proposition, with a focus on attracting e-commerce business owners who are looking for affordable and automated support solutions. The user dashboard provides business owners with full control over the chatbot’s features, allowing them to monitor performance and adjust settings, tailored to the needs of their business.
